How Very Dare You is a public-interest platform that displays official public records from the Connecticut Office of Early Childhood. This privacy policy describes how we handle information.
All provider information displayed on this platform comes from official Connecticut government records published on data.ct.gov. This includes provider names, license status, addresses, investigation records, and resolution outcomes. This information is public record under Connecticut law (CGS Section 1-210).
In Phase 1, this platform does not require user accounts. During the pilot, we may record first-party product analytics events such as coarse page type, search result count, provider-detail views, investigation expansion, source clicks, correction clicks, and residential address reveal clicks.
These events do not store raw search text, provider names, street addresses, emails, phone numbers, Clerk IDs, free text, secrets, full URLs, IP addresses, or raw user agents. Search events keep only derived fields such as result-count buckets, filter type, town slug, and query class. We use anonymous random browser/session keys for pilot measurement; they are not derived from identity or public record data. We also use PostHog to understand coarse product usage and diagnose errors. PostHog receives the same bounded event properties described above; analytics is disabled when its public project token is not configured.
If you submit a correction request via email, we retain your email address and the content of your message solely for the purpose of investigating and responding to your request.
We recognize that family child care homes operate from residential addresses. While these addresses are public record, we display only the city and zip code by default. Full addresses are available only upon explicit user action.
